Fire Season
The fire season is upon us again, this is suppose to be the worst fire season we have seen around here in awhile! We have had dry thunderstorms for about five days now. The first one on Sunday caused several fires around the area, including one at the fire and science academy (how ironic is that?). This fire closed down I-80 for several hours on Monday and we didn't think Dan was going to be able to come home from work that night. They did get the fire contained and was able to re-opened the freeway. The fires have threatened our water supply and electricity. It's been kinda scary this week. We've been mostly indoors, trying to stay out of the smoke. Marissa is not feeling well today, I think it's from her asthma.
I'm glad to say this evening the smoke has been clearing up and the water ban was lifted this afternoon.
There's a ban on all open flames or anything that might cause a fire state wide. I'm kinda wondering if Elko will do the fire works on the 4th of July. I think at this point it's risky.

What's "Jose" Mom?
Marissa said the cutest thing today. She said "Mom, what's Jose?" I sat there for a minute stumped and said, "What do you mean, "Jose"? She said "Yeah, What does it mean when someone says "Jose"? I sat there, (still stumped) and I said "Well, Jose is a name, is that what you mean?" She said "No, it's when someone says it with something else. But, I can't remember how it goes." I said (after I had a laugh to myself), "Do you mean when someone says "No way Jose!" Marissa said "Yeah, That's it!

The Weekend
Yesterday McKayla and Camron spent the night, it was Mike's and Amanda's anniversary and they went out of town for the night. We had a great time with the kids! We gave them lots and lots of sugar before we returned them! They swam and rode their bikes most of yesterday. Last night we had a BBQ with our neighbors, Camron enjoyed playing with the boys. Today we went out to the Lamoile fair. It's my favorite thing to do in the summer! I look forward to it all year long. I love everything about it! The crafts, the food, the crafts and the scenery. Did I mention the crafts? I got a very cute wreath to hang in the bathroom and a cute rustic star to go with my Americana decor in the frontroom! I love them!!!!!! I could have spent a lot more! But, I controlled myself! Hey, I have to pace myself. Art in the park is coming up in a couple of weeks! My second favorite thing.
Dan is outside preparing to paint the deck, I don't think he's going to be able to though, a storm is moving in! I didn't really want to paint today anyways, it's topping 94 degrees outside! It's to HOT!Posted by Cheri at 6:55 PM 0 comments

First Day of Summer!
We spent most of the day outside swimming today! One of Marissa's favorite things to do. Another favorite thing is her cats! This is one of her cats, Lucky. He got his name because we found him at the hospital under Mindy's hood of her car. Marissa insisted that we keep him. He's a lucky cat, when we found him he was in pretty bad shape. He was very dirty and looked like he hadn't eaten or drank anything for awhile. He's been such a good cat, he's very cuddly! We love him!! I think he's a keeper!

Fathers Day

On Fathers Day we all went up to Lamoile Canyon and had a BBQ. It was really nice and peaceful. Good food too! The kids had fun playing in the stream. Marissa thought she was so cool because she got to ride on Pa-pa's Harley. Marissa loves his motorcycle! She even had him pick her up on Saturday, during the motorcycle jamboree and had him take her into town. She loved every minute!!
We went and watched the second Garfield after the BBQ. It was alot like the first one, slow!! Marissa liked it though, that's all that matters.

Motorcycle Jamboree and the Tesla Concert
This weekend was the motorcycle jamboree. It was a great time. I think it gets bigger every year. I've never seen so many motorcycles in my life!! Saturday we went to a Tesla concert and then went out dancing afterwards. Telsa was okay, it was nice to get dressed up and go out. We all had a great time! Every year the jamboree amazes me! People actually sell jello shots on the streets. I wonder if that's legal? They would most defiantly have to have a license to sell liquor! Regardless, they were yummy! I think Mindy was their best costumer! I wonder who they will bring in next year? I would post pictures, but the camera didn't go with the outfit! I didn't want to look like a tourist!!

Swim lessons and rainy days
Marissa started swim lessons yesterday. She was very excited to go, she loves to swim! The last two days I have been meaning to take my camera to take pictures, but I get rushed and leave without it. I'll try again tomorrow.
The weather is terrible right now. It's getting ready to rain, the wind is blowing and the dark clouds are rolling in. I love when it rain's on a hot summer day. It smells so good! I feel sorry for Marissa though. She's been wanting to go outside all day. I haven't broke the news to her that it's suppose to rain for the next three days. I'm glad her classes are early in the morning since it usually rains late afternoon.
I'll try and remember to take my camera tomorrow, so I can post some pics!

School's Out For Summer
Yesterday was the last day of school for Marissa, yah-Who!! SUMMER!! She's so excited! She did very well on her report card, we are so proud of her. She thinks her stuff don't stink because she's a big third grader now! I think differently!
We went to see Cars the movie last night, it was so cute! Marissa and I went with Mindy, Jeff and the girls. Dan was at work, he had to miss out.
Marissa finally got to swim in the swimming pool today. It's been raining since Wednesday, so she hasn't been able to swim. She's been driving us nuts about it.
Let the LAZZZY Days begin!!!

A Hiking We Will Go!
Saturday we went hiking in Lamoille Canyon. We had a great time! We hiked Thomas Canyon this time. It was sensational! I think Marissa is ready to go!
We followed this waterfall all the way to the top. It was very pretty. Hey, Marissa you have bunny ears!

We went through SNOW to finish our hike. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, considering the Ruby mountains are glaciers. It was a great hike! We saw beaver dam's on the way up, Marissa cracked me up. She said to me "Wow, those are huge dam's, those beavers must be rich! They have a huge house! I wonder how many people are in there family? Do you think that is their town?"
