The fire season is upon us again, this is suppose to be the worst fire season we have seen around here in awhile! We have had dry thunderstorms for about five days now. The first one on Sunday caused several fires around the area, including one at the fire and science academy (how ironic is that?). This fire closed down I-80 for several hours on Monday and we didn't think Dan was going to be able to come home from work that night. They did get the fire contained and was able to re-opened the freeway. The fires have threatened our water supply and electricity. It's been kinda scary this week. We've been mostly indoors, trying to stay out of the smoke. Marissa is not feeling well today, I think it's from her asthma.
I'm glad to say this evening the smoke has been clearing up and the water ban was lifted this afternoon.
There's a ban on all open flames or anything that might cause a fire state wide. I'm kinda wondering if Elko will do the fire works on the 4th of July. I think at this point it's risky.
