Where's Santa?

Do you ever wonder where Santa is, on his biggest night of the year?

There's lots of ways to track your relatives' flights in real-time, but there's one jolly fellow in red who doesn't file an official flight plan with the FAA who's a little tougher to track over the holidays. That's right, Santa Claus. Luckily the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) has been tracking Santa for us for more than 50 years, and this year's no different. If you want to track Santa with NORAD click on the Hyperlink below.

What Are You Doing Teaching Young Children?

There are those days when the logical mind says,
you must move on and do a better job of supporting yourself.
Those days when the logical mind says, why did you choose this
career, it is not reasonable.
If the heart can still the mind, then the answers are apparent.
Perhaps logic did not play a great part in choosing our jobs as teachers.
We are truly teaching life's most important lessons to the little ones;
The lesson of love, to love oneself unconditionally and to
share that love with others.
Perhaps we were guided and chosen to be in this place.
For teaching love in a crowded, confused and often angry world
is not something everyone can do.
How many people are hugged and told they are loved by the people
they work with each day?
How many people own original works of art created expressly for them?
How many jobs allow you to wipe away tears and make the world
a better place for others?
How many people are allowed to see a tired, weary world
through fresh new eyes,
where all things are possible,
To hear laughter and joy for no big reason, just for being.
When the logical mind says, what are you doing teaching young children?
Listen to your heart one more time

I forgot that I had this poem...I absolutely love it! I definitely needed to be reminded why I have chose to do what I do! There's so much drama going on at work. Everyone is there for the same reason... it's just to bad that everyone just can't be happy! But, then that's just me dreaming that we live in a perfect world without conflict or drama!

Christmas vacation could not have come at a better time!!

Stuff!

Dan put our Christmas lights up today. There so pretty! I found some cute little snow flakes that light up at Walmart for our porch! I love them! Christmas will be here before we know it! It seems like I just took down all my Halloween stuff!

I'm so excited that the fall semester is almost over! I have two more classes next week, and I will be on Christmas break for three weeks! Whahoo!!! It's the getting there that's killing me!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone had a great turkey day, surrounded by family, friends and love! I'm so thankful for my family and friends....I could not ask for anything more!

Hannah Montana Concert!

Marissa and I went to the Hannah Montana Concert this last Saturday night in Salt Lake City. It was crazy! We had a great time! We feel so lucky that we got tickets! It was an outstanding concert! We got to meet her Grandma, what a sweet lady! We thought that was pretty cool! I don't think Marissa will be coming off her cloud any time soon! She's a pretty happy little girl!

Updates and Birthdays!

Yesterday was Dan's Birthday! We celebrated by going to the movies and then going out to dinner at The Pine Lodge, it's a cute little restaurant out in Lamoille. What an old man he's getting to be!

We went out to dinner as a family tonight to celebrate Dan, Mike and Amanda's Birthday's. They are all within a week so it's nice to get together, and celebrate them all at once. It's just a blessing anymore that we can do that as a family with every one's crazy schedule's.

Kierra turned seven on Friday! Wow! We went over to Mindy and Jeff's house to celebrate. The girls are getting so big! Mindy and Jeff are officially owners of the Gold's Gym! How exciting is that? it's right up their alley! I think that it's a great opportunity for them.

I'm so excited for next weekend! I bought tickets to take Marissa to go see Hannah Montana in concert in Salt Lake City. It should be a fantastic time!!

I'm sooo tired of school! I can't wait for the semester to be over! I have an in-class essay in my English class in the morning. I'm so stressed about it, I can't sleep. (that's why I'm still awake) My eyes are so heavy, I can't Hardly see the computer screen. Wish me luck! Good Night!

September

I just realized I didn't post anything on here the whole month of September...where did the month go? We are all doing really well. We have been just busy! I'm swamped in home work and work. (What's new?) Marissa is doing okay in school and Dan's been working. He did go on a fishing trip a couple of weeks ago and Marissa and I went to Park City, Utah and stayed in a condo for the weekend with my mom. It was so relaxing! The leaves on the trees were so beautiful!

It's gotten really cold here. We had our first snow a couple of nights ago. I had to do a double take when I was walking by the window! That was not in my forecast!

Marissa is so excited, she can barley stand it! We are taking her to see Hannah Montana on the 26th of October in S.L.C. I'm also excited because it's a four day weekend. Whahoo! I'm already ready for a BREAK!!

Marissa

We went up to Lamoille Canyon for a picnic a couple of weeks ago and we had some fun in the water. I love this picture of Marissa! It's so cute! She's not my baby anymore!

Tired!

I'm soo tired!! This has been a very busy week for us!

We just got back from spending the weekend in Salt Lake City. We went there to celebrate Hailey's 5th Birthday at Lagoon. We had so much!! I can't believe she's already 5!!

School starts tomorrow..It's just crazy!! We did a little last minute school shopping in Salt Lake. Marissa is totally excited to start the new school year. We meet her teacher at open house on Thursday, she seems very nice. Marissa wanted Roxy clothes and a Roxy backpack this year for school. What happened to the simple Bobby Jack stuff? I liked that phase! It was cheaper too! Anyways, we found some really cute stuff, and we are both happy!

My preschool class starts tomorrow also. I'm soo excited! I already meet most of the children in my class from our open house. They are so adorable!!!

Back to Work!

It's that time of the year again!

I'm back at work! We are currently in the process of setting up our classrooms and getting things prepared to run them. I'm soo excited to start this school year! I got my own class and I'm just so thrilled about it!! I'm the only one at our center that holds a lead position without a degree, I think that alone is just wonderful! I have so many great ideas, I can't wait to implement them in the class!

College classes start in two weeks. I'm a little nervous about this semester, I'll be taking math 120 and I've heard it's hard to pass! ....GREAT! I'm ready for the challenge! I'm soo ready to be done with college!

Marissa starts school in a week, she's going to be in fourth grade! I can't believe it! We have been busy getting things ready for her to go back also. She's very excited to go back and see her friends again. She's excited because she'll be in a fifth grade room and it's the biggest in the school, I think it's funny!

Off to Disneyland!

We are off to Disneyland in the morning! We are soo excited! We will be flying out of Salt Lake, not so excited about the drive there! Anyways, we have a three day hopper pass to Disneyland then a day pass to Universal Studios. It should be a great time! Dan and I decided it was time to take Marissa back, we haven't been to Disneyland in four years.

I think this might be our last vacation before school and work starts.... It's right around the corner! I can't believe it! Marissa is going to be in 4th grade..WOW!

I will post pictures when we get back......

My Dad's New Boat!

Lake Chelan

We all had a great time in Chelan over the 4th of July Week. We had fun playing in the sun and water. I don't think we've gotten that much sun in a long time! Marissa has swimmers ear and I have a huge fat lip from a sun burn, it has blister's on it now! Ouch! I was so excited to eat the fresh fruit from the fruit stands. I think we spent more money on bringing back fruit than anything! ...Well, besides the outrageous gas prices!

Check out the slide show!

Joan Jett rocks Elko!

Last weekend was once again Motorcycle Jamboree...

Joan Jett does'nt care about her ‘bad reputation’ and neither did the thousands who swarmed the downtown corridor last Saturday night to catch the rocker’s free concert for Motorcycle Jamboree. She played songs such as I Love Rock N' Roll and Crimson and Clover (my favorites!)

This is the one weekend of the year that we look forward to going out with friends and family. It's the one time of the year that you can count on seeing everyone and anyone....and seeing some things you really don't want to see! It amazes me year after year, and continues to grow year after year! (I think it's the jello shots that they sell on the streets that amaze me the most!) for twenty dollars you can get a box of them! ....they are very good too!

Some of the things that take place during Motorcycle Jamboree are... a poker run, Dyno drags, trials riders, street bike demos, Gold Angels Precision Riding Team, a motorcycle parade, a biker rodeo hosted by the POW/MIA group, a street dance and the Stockmen’s Hotel & Casino biker babe contest....(which doesn't thrill me to much) and vendors after vendor! One vendor was even called White Trash Boutique......I told you there was some things you just don't want to see! But, that's what I love so much about Motorcycle Jamboree! You can go out and just have fun whoever you might be.....

Humm....June, I think?

We have had such nice weather here, until today! It's 43 degrees here and very cold! Yes, 43 degrees! Did I mention cold? Did I mention it's suppose to snow? The mountains around use already have snow on them from last night. I cannot believe the weather we are having, it's crazy!! I don't know what this is going to do to all my plants and flowers I worked so hard on planting! Who would of ever thought it would snow in June? Then again, this is good old Elko we are talking about. It has been known to snow hear on the 4th of July!

Speaking of the 4th of July....I'm so excited! We are going to Lake Chelan for the week to spend it with my family. My parents, brother and sister are all coming with their families, it's so nice that we all can make it. We rented condos on the lake...It should be a fantastic time! It's been along time since we celebrated the 4th on Lake Chelan!

Dan and I also planned a trip to Disneyland the week after we get back from Chelan. We decided it was time again to take Marissa there, she's getting so big! It's going to be weird not having my family there, but it will be good for the three of us to go and spend some quality time together. It makes me wonder how fast we can get through Disneyland with just three people instead of thirteen?? We are very excited to go! We are also going to go to Universal Studio while we are there...Maybe I will see Nickolas Cage while we are there? They are filming another Treasure Hunt, You never know!

12th Anniversary!

Yesterday was our 12th Anniversary, WOW!! Dan and I celebrated by going to Salt Lake City on Sunday and staying at the Anniversary Inn. We had a great time, besides the room being hot and hearing ESPN coming from another room for hours...Geez!
It was nice to get away and relax....We didn't want to leave! It's always nice to get away from it all every once in awhile!!

My three year old class had their end of the year program today and their BBQ, it was so sad!! I'm going to miss them so much!! My pre-K class graduates on Thursday night and I'm done with work for the summer......It's bitter sweet!!!

I got a job promotion for next year! I'm sooo excited about it, and the raise!! I will have my OWN classroom with an assistant! I can't wait!

Spiderman 3

Tonight we went and watched Spiderman 3, we ALL loved it!! It was soo good! Spiderman was there giving out posters and Camron wanted one so bad from him! Spiderman walked up to us and gave Marissa one... you could see the disappointment on Cam's face. I felt soo bad for him!! Hello! We had three kids with us, why would he do that?? Anyways, I was not the only one who saw the disappointment on Cam's face. Marissa saw it too, so she gave it to him, how sweet is that?? I love that girl! Anyways, we really enjoyed the movie it was great!! I can't wait for the next one...yep, they left it open for another one...yay!! I think this one was better than the last! I guess you'll have to go see for yourself........

Happy Birthday Don!!

Hope you have a great day......

Himalayan Goji Juice

My sister discovered Goji Juice....This is the best juice I've ever drank! Marissa even likes it and that's surprising, she doesn't drink any juice! I'm so excited about this find and I want to share it with everyone! My family is already taking it.....It has even helped with my Mom's reoccurring cough. Here's some information about the juice.....

Did you know that in some remote places in this world, a life expectancy of more than 100 years is not uncommon? Not only do people in these remote regions live long lives, they also enjoy abundant health and happiness.
What factors have contributed to their great fortune? These centenarians often live in isolated places. Away from the harmful influences of modern civilisation. Their diet contains fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains, and is low in animal fats.
Yet, even more importantly, a recent scientific discovery has revealed something the Himalayan people have known for thousands of years! Many of the world's longest living people consume regular daily helpings of a tiny red fruit that may be the world's most powerful food - the goji berry.
The First Healers:During the Tang Dynasty (around 800 AD), a well had been dug beside a wall near a famous Buddhist temple that was covered with goji vines. Over the years, countless berries had fallen into the well. Those who prayed there had the ruddy complexion of good health, and even at the age of eighty they had no white hair and had lost no teeth, simply because they drank the water from the well. From this legend, a poem was crafted.
It is said that the Himalayans were the first natural healers, and that they shared their wisdom with the ancient herbalists of China, Tibet, and India. One of their most prized secrets was the fruit of the native goji vine, which had been flourishing in the Himalayan valleys since the beginning of time. Those who came there to learn took the goji home with them and planted it in their own valleys, thus spreading the legend of this most marvellous and healthful fruit.

Why Himalayan Goji Berries?
Just as there are many varieties of grapes for wine making, there are many varieties of goji—as many as 41 species growing in Tibet alone! The challenge for Dr. Mindell and Freelife™ was to harvest the goji of Himalayan legend, and avoid poor quality berries.

How Himalayan Goji™ Juice Works
Research strongly suggests that Goji’s four unique polysaccharides work in the body by serving as directors and carriers of the instructions that cells use to communicate with each other. In this way, it can be said that these polysaccharides are "Master Molecules" by virtue of their ability to promote optimal health throughout the body. In the goji berry, polysaccharide levels can vary widely depending upon where and when the berry is grown, and that may explain why some berries are said to be more beneficial than others.

Goji is rich in naturally occurring minerals (zinc, calcium, germanium, selenium, phosphorus, copper, and iron) and amino acid (isoleucine and methione). This treasured berry is traditionally used to improve general metabolism, strengthen the immune system, and boost energy. Goji juice can help support blood pressure levels and promote healthy joints. Goji contains polysaccharides and phytonutrients and is a natural source of antioxidant vitamins. This vegetarian juice may also help prevent premature aging and make you look and feel younger. Other amazing benefits include: improved memory function, cholesterol support, enhanced sexual function, and weight loss support.

Who wouldn't be excited about that? If you've read to this point your obviously interested...for more information and to purchase this product go to this website.

Whirlwind....

Wow, we've been so busy around here! Some days I feel like I can't even catch my breathe! Today was one of those days I spent running around with my head cut off!

It's been so nice outside, we've enjoyed spending time out in the yard doing yard work. We planted four new trees this weekend...I love them! They are all trees that have pink blossoms on them. I hope they do well in the Nevada dirt. I miss Washington at this time of the year, and all the apple blossoms!

McKayla and Camron are spending the week with us, Mike and Amanda are in New Orleans for a mine rescue competition. We've had alot of fun with them, except at bedtime when all they want to do is talk and jiggle.

Yesterday we had a fish fry....it was so yummy! We FINALLY cooked all the fish Dan's parents bought us when we were up in Washington. We invited our neighbors over and my parents. We barbecued salmon and fryed the rest of the fish. I also made a shrimp salad and coleslaw, Yummy!

Only three more weeks of school, Yahoo! Summer vacation...Here we come!

A Brilliant Idea!

So, I got this brilliant idea to take this class that was the last three Saturdays from eight thirty to five thinking it was going to be an easy three credits....yea, right!! I assumed since it was only three Saturday's that there couldn't be that much work involved! Once again, yea, right! It was a full semester of work compiled in just three Saturday's, Ouch!! I'm so glad it's over!! I'm very glad that I took it not only because it was a required class but, it was one of the best classes that I've taken yet! I'm so inspired by the instructor and I got so many new ideas, it was great! The class was so rich with information!! It was wonderful!

I Left Mine At Home....

Today, the kids at school were.....CRAZY! I think it has alot to do with the weather, it snowed today! I'm not thrilled at all! Anyways, we were lining up outside and I was singing a song to get their attention. I asked them to find their buttons (a polite way to tell them to stop talking and listen!) and my niece said "I left my button at home!" I couldn't believe she told me that! Well, after that they all decided they left their buttons at home, which was apparent! It was crazy! I had to write it down so I wouldn't forget she said that! I also haven't told her Mom she said that yet either!! Funny little girl! You gotta love them!!!

Thirty Plus......

Yesterday was my Birthday........We went to my favorite restaurant with my family and ate dinner to celebrate, it was so yummy!

Dan and Marissa got me a beautiful sorrelli necklace and bracelet set, I love it!! I also got a couple of gift certificates, I'm spoiled!!

Dan asked Marissa yesterday when he was driving her to school how old she thought I was and she told him I was thirty-nine. Thirty-nine? I couldn't believe she said that! Just a couple of years ago she was convinced I was a teenager! I had to convince her that I wasn't a teenager!! Time already goes by so fast don't age me more then I have to...Jess!

Easter

We had a great Easter! We went and spent the day at my parents house. My parents did a Easter egg hunt for the kids and my Mom cooked a big Easter lunch. It was yummy! It was nice to spend the day with my favorite peeps (family)! Marissa got us up at six in the morning to see what she had gotten from the Easter bunny, so we were all very tired when we returned home! I have some cute pictures of our day to come!!

Terrorism On Our School Buses?

I hope this isn't true! I heard today that terrorist have been caught trying to get jobs driving school buses, Yea!! Terrorist driving our children to school! What was the plan here? I can't even bear to think what they were planning! When I heard this I immediatly pictured Marissa's bus driver. It's a white women, with blonde hair! Are we save here, or not? I don't think she looks like a terrorist. I don't know what a terrorist looks like though, do you?? Don't they do backgroung checks on these people?

Bored, with ALOT to do!

Nothing new to write about, I'm just bored! I have a lot to do, I just don't want to do it!

Girl Scout cookie sales are finished! Whoa!!! My troop sold 1,800 boxes of cookies, they sold enough to cover the cost of each of them to go to camp this summer! This sounds like an easy goal to achieve when the cookies are $3.50 a box, but when you discover the troop only receives .50cents per box, that's a huge accomplishment!! I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles!
I had a lot of great Mom's help me this year, I'm so thankful!! I couldn't of done it without them!

Spring has sprung, Again! I hope for good this time!!!! It's suppose to be 78 degrees on Friday! Yay!

Spring Break, Gone!

Spring Break has come and gone and we have been thrown back into our regular routine once again. We went to the Seattle area for spring break. We all had a GREAT time visiting Dan's parents. We, I mean I had a great time shopping. Dan was just happy to be in good company. Marissa enjoyed being spoiled again and again by her grandparents. Dan was so happy to finally make it up there to go fishing and when Don and Dan finally put the boat in the water the stirring cable went out!! Dan was pretty upset about it, there's always next time!

On the way home we went and spent the night in Leavenworth and went into Wenatchee to have lunch with old friends. We had a great time at lunch, it was so fun to go down memory lane. Many things have changed since the last time I was in Wenatchee. Wenatchee will always stay close to my heart with unforgettable memories not far behind! We had alot of fun showing Marissa the house were I lived, where I went to school, our first apartment (what were we thinking??), and the place where we got married. I wished we had made our trip a little later so we could have seen the apple blossoms in Wenatchee. I think that's the best time of the year when everything is in bloom! .....I have some pics I will post, soon!!

This week has been very busy for all of us. The weather has been crazy! It was nice on Monday and then snowed...ALOT on Tuesday and Wednesday, Thursday it was nice and now today the wind has been blowing none stop. Did I mention all the snow melted? Yeah, weird weather!!!Dan's back at work, working seven night shifts, yuck! Marissa has been busy keeping up with the extended day light and all her new toys she got at her grandparents house in Washington! I've been very busy at work this week planning graduation and our Dad's night that we held last night. Classes start again on Monday and I will be starting a new class this next weekend. Couldn't they have started it on a different weekend? Hello, it's Easter weekend!!! The last thing I want to worry about is dreaded homework!

Happy Birthday Marissa!!!

Today Marissa turned nine, Wow!! I can't believe it! We celebrated by having a BBQ last night and having a sleep over. Marissa had nine girls spend the night, yes! nine!! The weather was so nice yesterday we did everything outside.
Marissa's ninth birthday party will go down in one of the most unforgettable moments in my life! While playing games in the back yard we noticed smoke rolling over the roof. We all thought our house was on fire, it really looked like it too!!! To make a long story short it was all due to our pellet stove, there was no fire! Thank God!! It still shook everyone up!! I panicked at the moment of chaos and started screaming "Call the fire detector, Call the fire detector!" Okay, so I meant "Call the fire department" But, at the time I could not think straight! There was so many things going through my mind in the few seconds of chaos! Now, my words will be the talk of future Thanksgiving dinners, forever!!! We still had a great time though!! We were all tired today, it was a long night! We took the girls swimming after cake and ice cream and then come back to the house where the girls were up watching movies and playing games into the early morning hours. I have some cute pictures of the cake I made and of the party that I will post soon!!!

Spring break starts on Friday, Yay!!! We are going to go to Seattle, I can't wait!!!

Is it Spring?

It was so nice here today, it was like spring!! Is it spring?? I'm not holding my breathe!! It was 59 degrees, Whaoo....We're having a heat wave!!!!! This weekend it's suppose to be 69 degrees!!! Sunday is day light savings, wow! Already??

We enjoyed the evening by going on a walk around the block, it was so nice!!!

Daddy's Cute!!

Marissa said the cutest thing tonight! I was getting on my computer and my screen saver has a picture of Dan on it, Marissa was walking by and I said "isn't daddy so cute!" Marissa turned to me and said "Yeah, that's why he's my daddy!!" I thought it was so cute!! I guess she's right, in a way! He is so cute!!!

I'm Back!!

I'm back from Reno!! We all had a great time!! We all have some funny stories to last us until next year. I'm excited to go back to work and test all the wonderful new things I learned while I was at the conference. It was a nice break from everything, I sure did miss Dan and Marissa while I was gone though!

Marissa's birthday is this weekend! I'm trying to get everything ready for it. She is going to have a sleep over that night with her friends. She also wants to have a BBQ and I actually think the weather is going to agree with us this year, it's suppose to be 65 degrees on Saturday, Sweet!!! It has snowed here all weekend long, I hope it's the last of it.....I think mother nature didn't get the message from the silly groung hog that it was going to be an early spring!!

I can't wait to bust out my new Doc Martin sandals, whoa-who!!!!

March Already?

Tomorrow I'm leaving to go to the NevAEYC conference. I'm really excited to go! It's in Reno this year. I'm going with a couple of girls that I work with. I'm bummed that Dan didn't take it off to go with me. He has no vacation days, yet with his new job and we decided it was to many days to be taking off with Marissa's Birthday coming up and Spring Break the week after. I'm a little worried about the weather, it's been snowing here like crazy! Reno has a storm over them and they are expected to get two feet of snow! Weren't we suppose to get a early spring?? Jess!!!

I can't believe Marrisa is going to be nine next weekend! We were going to have a BBQ at our house, I think it's going to be to cold though! Marissa wants to have a My Little Pony birthday party! I found a My Little Pony cake pan on ebay that I ended up having the winning bid! I'm excited about it, Dan was less enthused about it when I told him I payed sixty dollars for it! Those pans are in demand right now and I told him I could use it and turn around and sell it back on ebay, who knows maybe I'll make a little off of it! Dan felt a little better about it after I told him that!

Spring Break is in two weeks, I can't wait!! It will be a nice break!! We are planning on going to Seattle for the week! I'm not looking forward to the 24/7 rain! I like rain, but I like the sun too!! We always go into Seattle and go to Pike's Place Market and the Aquarium then we go and eat fish and chips (I always thought that was morbid too, to go look at fish then go eat fish)! We always have a good time! I want to go to Tully's Coffee Shop when we are down there! I guess it's suppose to be pretty good and I noticed the last time I was in the grocery store they have their own line of coffee on the market now.

Divine Strake Cancelled!

In early 2006, the Defense Threat Reduction Agency and the National Nuclear Security Administration announced plans to conduct a large conventional experiment known as Divine Strake at the Nevada Test Site. Congressman Matheson has questioned DTRA officials about the purpose of Divine Strake and its potential environmental effects.
The Divine Strake experiment was expected to detonate 700 tons of ammonium nitrate-fuel oil as part of a dual-use test at NTS in order to gather both conventional and nuclear effects data. The test was originally slated to occur on June 2, 2006, but due to the concerns raised by Congressman Matheson, Utah Senator Orrin Hatch, Nevada Congresswoman Shelley Berkley, and other key leaders,

Divine Strake was cancelled on February 22, 2007.

Valentines Day!

On Valentines Day, Dan and I didn't have to work, it was nice! I made cupcakes and we went to Marissa's party at school, it was cute and she was very happy that we were there. Marissa was very excited for the day to come, so she could get a Valentine from a boy she likes. She discovered at the party she hadn't received one from him so she went and told him her concern and got one from him. After that she was thrilled and told us what the card said, after she read the card another girl came up to her and said "Guess what my card says? It says, if theirs a million roads, I would pick the road that leads to you!" And with a smile the girl walked away! Marissa was crushed!! I felt bad for her! I hate to burst her bubble but did she forget she's only eight!!! The DRAMA!!!

We had Valentines dinner at Misty's, it was very good! Dan bought Marissa and I roses and spoiled us at dinner. Marissa got a necklace with a cat on it and he bought me diamond earrings. Dan also bought me a sorrelli necklace that I got earlier in the day, I love it!!! He always spoils us!!

I went to the gym with Mindy to work off all those extra calories yesterday and today I can barely move my arms, they hurt so bad!! I can't even straighten them, OUCH!! All that candy and good food is not worth the way I'm feeling tonight!!!

If you would of asked me while I was consuming all that food, I would have had a different answer!! Damn chocolate, it gets me every time!!

My Lost Keys!

Marissa and I have been home all week because Marissa has been sick. Today, I decided that she was well enough to go to school, Marissa didn't agree at all!! After debating with her over the subject and my win; she got up and got ready. When we went to leave I couldn't find my keys anywhere! My heart sunk and I knew right away Dan had taken my keys!! This is the third time he has done this to me since I got my new car, that's three times in two months!! The worst part about this whole situation is that Dan takes a work truck to work, so both of our cars were sitting here and I couldn't drive either of them....GRRR! He doesn't even need his keys!! After the last time it happened I told Marissa to make me something to put on my key ring and she made me a bead thing to hang from it and he still picked them up! Needless to say he was in the dog house! Marissa and I ended up staying home, again! I wouldn't of minded so much, but I had appointments that I had to cancel and rearrange for today.

I've decided that I need to do something elaborate to my keys so Dan won't touch them! I haven't decided what I'm going to do, but I'll let yea know when I think of it!

Sick Again!!!

Marissa has been sick for the last couple of days, YUCK!! She stayed home from school today and she's staying home tommorow. Poor Marissa! I'm taking tommorow off to stay home with her, it will be nice to catch up on things!! I really hope I don't get it!!!

I'm soo sick of winter!! It's been so nice here the last couple of days. It's given me Spring fever!! I hope that dang groundhog is right!! I'm ready for Spring!! Bring it on!!

UFC 67

On Saturday night we rented the UFC fight and watched it at our house with family and friends. We had a great time, the fight was very disappointing though! Travis Lutter not only lost a chance at the UFC Middleweight Championship and disappointed fight fans by coming in overweight for his UFC 67 main event but he also succeeded in making the champion, Anderson Silva, angry, resulting in a second round submission win for ‘The Spider’.

Where do I get a refunnd??

A "divine" bomb blast?

An upcoming non-nuclear bomb test in Nevada is being given the sort of window dressing that Washington politicians use to describe bad legislation, "Putting lipstick on a pig."
The test blast is called "Divine Strake," words that roughly deify a device (strake) that deflects airflow on an aircraft wing or deflects water on a boat. Presumably, the name is a metaphor for developing a godly bomb that would deflect enemies.

Beyond questioning whether the U.S. arsenal needs another new weapon with catastrophic explosive power, critics of the Nevada Test Site wisely wonder whether 700 pounds of ammonium nitrate fuel oil emulsion that would simulate a nuclear blast will kick up radioactive dust that will be carried by winds aloft and sprinkled on Idaho and other areas.

Test officials admit the blast, if and when carried out, will result in a dust-filled mushroom cloud soaring 10,000 feet. With the Nevada test area already contaminated from dozens of nuclear explosions, it taxes the imagination to believe none of that debris will be in the mushroom cloud as it dissipates while drifting in the winds.

Residents of states downwind from the Nevada test areas in the 1950s suffered health effects, some fatal, from nuclear fallout, and have been settling lawsuits with the government for years.

Our own reservations involve a longer view than the test. As western states downwind from the test site grow rapidly with larger urban populations in the 21st century, the government needs an alternative to test facilities that were designated 60 years ago in World War II when the area was considered remote.

With computers now designing virtually every new product, including bombs, it's understandable that they need testing before being used in the field. But any testing that endangers the health of the very men, women and children the bombs are designed to protect must be questioned and the danger minimized or eliminated.

Why is this situation not being looked at closer!! We have to speak up and raise our voices!!! I'm a "downwinder" and I'm outraged that this is even a question of something that should take place!!! This "divine" bomb blast puts my family and I at risk, are we worth so little that we are not worth protecting? I NEVER thought that I would have to worry about a war on our own land!! I mentioned this situation tonight to a family member and they had no idea that this was even going on, and the person is a local resident!!

N.A.Y.C.E Confrence in Reno

March 1, 2, and 3 is the NAYCE conference in Reno. I'm soo excited, I was rewarded a scholarship to go!! The scholarship pays for the conference and some travel expenses. Scholarship's were given to one person at each center state wide and I'm the one that got selected from our preschool!! I can't wait to go, it's fun to get new ideas and get inspired by fellow ECE educators!! Dan and I went to the conference in Las Vegas last year and we had such a good time!! Dan is scheduled to work this year; but, he is going to try and get it off.

Marissa said the funniest thing the other night!! We came home late one night and Marissa had fallen asleep on the way home so Dan got her out of the car and was carrying her up the steps when she said "Daddy, don't drop me because I bruise like a flower." We started laughing, I don't know why she would say that!! It's funny any how! She comes up with some pretty interesting things!! She's always making us laugh!!

My Dad!!

My Dad is the greatest Dad in the world! (Hi Dad!) He's always there for me (us) when needed, he's never judgemental; and if he is he never shows it, Instead he shares his knowledge! He's the type of guy who would give his shirt off his back if it meant helping someone in need. He's the one (with my Mom) who taught me everything I know! That's why I'm a know-it-all sometimes! Ha-Ha! I'm stuffed with good morals, values, beliefs, and stuff that I picked up on my own along the way....... Combine them all and you get ME!! Thanks for me!! You taught me to well!

You told me to update my blog! Well, there's your update! Your great!!!!

The Cheetah Girl Concert and the Ones We Love!

Last Monday we took Marissa, Mckalya, Kierra and Hailey to the Cheetah Girls Concert in Salt Lake City, it was what we gave them for their Christmas present. We wanted to give them a memory not another material thing that would be lost or broken or fade with time! The concert was a lot of fun!! I think it was more fun for me to watch them having fun than the actual concert!! They were soo cute!! Every song that they played, they would start screaming and they all would say "I know this song it's ..............."! Then they would jump up and down and start dancing. During the concert I realized just how old I'm getting and how old each of them are getting. It made me feel good that I was able to experience that with them, that's what it's all about though, right? Being with the ones we love!

During our busy lives we need to remember to take a time out and be with the ones we love and to tell them how much we care for them! Because in the end, family is all that really matters, it's not what kind of car we had or how big our house was or how much we had in our bank account! Sometimes I think people forget that fact! We are only on this earth for a short time, just waiting to go home! Even though material things seem nice here and now, I guarantee you that material things won't matter in the end, you can't take them with you when you die! In the end it will be about the quality of life you lived not the quantity that you had!! Don't get me wrong, a nice car, house and a fat bank account are always nice!! Some people are blessed with that life and some are not! I'm just saying don't base your whole life on material things! A really special person taught me this! ............It's the greatest knowledge that I've learned, on my barowed time that I call LIFE!!! Be happy and humble with the things you are blessed with and be happy for other's that are blessed with more! Be content with you!
